What is TENS therapy?

TENS therapy is a safe and painless procedure that is used in the world’s leading dentists to treat diseases of the maxillofacial region and cosmetic correction of the bite.

TENS therapy is a treatment method that is based on the use of special apparatuses called tens. These devices affect the problematic muscles and joints of the jaw with the help of electroneural stimulation. Thanks to special impulses (low-frequency microcurrent), muscle fibers in the problem areas of the jaw are stimulated, venous outflow in capillaries is improved and the flow of oxygenated arterial blood increases. Thanks to TENS therapy, metabolism is increased, decomposition products are removed and nutrients are delivered to the muscles.

Thus, TENS therapy relaxes overstressed muscles, relieves spasm and hypertonus, restores muscle elasticity and genetically laid down size. Muscle memory is erased, allowing the muscles to remain in a physiologically correct state rather than returning to a pathological state. The lower jaw and the joint fall back into place and pain is eliminated.
